Serve Your Church
We’ve found that one of the best ways to build relationships and strengthen your connection with church life is to serve alongside one another. God has given each of us talents and skills for the purpose of blessing and building His church. There are many opportunities to get involved. Scan over this list and if something catches your attention, give it a try! If you would like to volunteer in any of our CF Ministries:
We exist to support families in the mission of leading children on the adventure of knowing Jesus! Opportunities exist to serve in areas such as nursery, preschool, and elementary grades. There are positions that vary in commitment level and responsibilities, but we function as a team of volunteers, and would love to have you join our team!
twelve30 (Youth Group)
The youth ministry at CF goes by the name of twelve30. This group meets each week for a time of fun, worship, and teaching. If you like to get a little crazy, enjoy sporting activities, want to have some fun, and desire to watch God move among our kids, this is for you! Opportunities are available for mentoring, leading a small group, leading worship, organizing games and activities and event counseling.
cf LIVE is our ministry to college-age young adults. Our desire is help young adults know Jesus deeply, be rooted in their identity in him, and live passionately to make Jesus known to others. “As many as possible, as deep as possible” is our heart. We meet weekly on the Mizzou campus for worship, studying the Scriptures, prayer, and have other small groups and special events that happen throughout the semester. If you’d like to join our team by moving equipment, organizing a special event, leading a Bible study, or joining the worship team, let us know!
The men’s ministry at cf goes by the name of cfMen. This group has several small groups that meet regularly, and they have many events during the year. If you are interested in leading a small group or study, or joining our event team, we would love to have you join our team.
The women’s ministry at CF goes by the name of cfWomen. This group has several small groups that meet regularly, and they have many events during the year. There are opportunities available to help with small groups, weekly meetings, and plan events.
Connections Mentoring Ministry (our Women’s Mentoring Ministry) is a great opportunity for volunteers who are willing to befriend someone new and come alongside them as they grow in their walk with God. This would require a commitment of meeting with someone 2 to 4 times a month for about 4 months, though we have no set program to follow.
Building and Grounds
Building and Grounds is a support ministry focused on providing a pleasant functional environment in which to operate the ministries of the church and the events held in the building. We have a wide range of activities in which we can involve volunteers. These include but are not limited to event set up, event clean up, event hosting, landscaping projects, mowing, flower garden maintenance, building repairs and maintenance, vehicle repair and maintenance, maintenance of land on Chapel Hill, building security and painting.
Caring for Refugees
Over the last few years, CF has been blessed with a steady stream of refugees from Rwanda, Burundi, the Ivory Coast, Nepal, Burma, and Somalia. This team will help meet the unique needs of these groups by providing transportation, helping set up apartments, teaching English, and finding jobs.
Caring for Widows and the Home Bound
The church wants to care for widows and the lonely among us. We have a team of people who look out for those who can be so easily forgotten. This team will help by making visits, deliveries, and phone calls to those in this situation.
If you enjoy meeting and serving new people, the hospitality ministry could be for you! The usher team, parking lot team, greeter team, and connection center team serve on the front line while the coffee team and volunteer break room team serve behind the scenes.
Intercessory Prayer Team
Prayer undergirds everything we do at CF. We do not take the Lord’s presence or the work of the Holy Spirit for granted. Therefore dedicated members of the Intercessory Prayer Team take turns praying for the church on Sunday mornings. Individuals on the team take a 30-45 minute shift beginning at 8:30 and continuing through the end of the second meeting.
There is a large variety of events that happen on a regular basis in the life of CF. Volunteer opportunities are always available to help at picnics, meals, parties, and funerals. If you like to cook, decorate, clean, or organize, the event team could be for you.
It takes many, many people to pull off our worship times each weekend. Not only do we need people who can sing and play instruments, we need people to run audio, lighting, video, and manage the stage. We’re looking for people committed and passionate about using their talents to touch the heart of God and lead the congregation into worship.
