Reaching Out ![]() "The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood." - John 1:14 the Message Community Compassion is about neighbors. Do you remember a lawyer who asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" The story of the Good Samaritan was the answer (Luke 10:25-37). This Christmas Season, as is our norm, we will endeavor to focus on the needs of our neighbors through our annual offering an through ongoing ministires into our community. However, this year we find God opening our eyes to what it might look like if the church as a whole "moved into the neighborhood" in both relationships and finances. Joining those who have been faithfully ministering throughout the year we have identified areas of compassion and activities that groups may participate in together. In addition, we will take up our Community Compassion offering over the next 10 weeks through the Christmas Season. As Jesus moved into the neighborhood in flesh and blood to live among us (the broken and sin sick), we want to explore this Christmas what it might look like if we as a Church Community took Christmas to our neighbors.
